BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — Kern County probation officers arrested an Arvin man last week after they said they found a rifle, a semi-automatic handgun, and ammunition in a probation search.

On March 3, 2026, officers with the Kern County Probation Department’s Adult Probation Services Division, Supervision Unit D, performed a home call in the 1200 block of Packard Drive in Arvin.

In the home call, officers contacted Peter Moreno, who is on felony probation. He has terms for officers to search for weapons, said officials.

Officers said they seized:

Moreno was subsequently arrested on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, and gang participation, along with several other firearm-related charges.
