(KRON) — Two San Jose residents accused of stealing more than $4,000 worth of cycling clothing from a Redwood City store in late January were taken into custody Tuesday, according to police.

The Redwood City Police Department said on Jan. 29, Cristian Alexis SilvaGarcia, 33, and Josiah Alexander Delamora, 26, walked into Cycle Gear, located at 2426 El Camino Real, and quickly snatched several items of clothing before fleeing the scene in a red Subaru Impreza.
RCPD credits a store employee for snapping an image of the vehicle and its license plate, which police said investigators entered into the department’s Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) system.
On Tuesday, at approximately 12:17 p.m., police said an ALPR alert led them to the suspects’ vehicle in the 1900 block of El Camino Real where officers conducted a traffic stop and confirmed two male occupants, SilvaGarcia and Delamora, as suspects. Police said a woman was also located inside the vehicle, but authorities did not mention her as a suspect.
Police said SilvaGarcia and Delamora were arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Maguire Correctional Facility where they face charges of grand theft.
“Technology such as ALPR helps officers quickly identify vehicles connected to criminal activity and provides investigators with valuable leads that can assist in solving crimes,” Redwood City police added in a news release announcing the arrests.
This remains an active case. Anyone with information that can aid investigators is encouraged to contact RCPD at (650) 780-7100.
