ABC7 remembers beloved longtime newscast director Jerry Sandy

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — We are remembering a beloved member of our ABC7 family, Jerry Sandy, who passed away unexpectedly this week.

You’ve probably never met Jerry, but you’ve seen his work.

For 47 years, Jerry worked at ABC7, spending countless hours working as a director on ABC7 Mornings and Midday Live.

He was part of many productions, including just last weekend, helping keep everyone on track during the Chinese New Year Parade.

Jerry was more than just a coworker. He was a mentor, a friend, and someone many of us looked up to as our work ‘dad.’

We are all better for having known Jerry.

The ABC7 family thanks his wonderful wife, Beverlee, and two incredible daughters, Jordana and Natasha, for sharing Jerry with us all these years.
