LONG BEACH, CA — The Long Beach Amphitheater is still under construction and isn’t expected to open until the summer, but the venue is already lining up shows by popular artists.

The latest ones are hip-hop legends Nas and The Roots, who announced March 11 that they’re embarking on a limited four-show run titled ‘A Great Night in Hip Hop.’

The brief tour includes an Aug. 28 show in Long Beach, with tickets going on sale to the public at 10 a.m. March 13.

Joining The Roots and Nas will be another legendary rap crew, De La Soul. All tickets will be sold via Ticketmaster. More information is available at ticketmaster.com.

The Long Beach Amphitheater, an 11,000-seat outdoor venue, is expected to open to the public with a July 11 show by rocker Les Claypool and his band, Primus.

Other acts also scheduled include “yacht rock” acts Toto and Christopher Cross on Aug. 14, country star Luke Bryan on Aug. 15, and cumbia band Los Angeles Azules on Sept. 5.
