A 39-year-old Bakersfield woman was arrested on suspicion of multiple felonies and warrants that span three different counties on Wednesday evening, according to an official with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
Around 6 p.m., the suspect was arrested on suspicion of felony burglary, felony identity theft and felony auto theft, Shirley Miller, spokeswoman with the station, wrote in an email statement.
The suspect allegedly broke into lockers at multiple gyms and stole personal property, and in some cases, she reportedly used victims’ keys taken from the lockers to steal their vehicles, Miller’s statement said.
Miller added in a follow-up phone interview that the woman was booked at the SCV Sheriff’s Station after being arrested in Bakersfield and transported back to the SCV.
Through the combined efforts of the SCV Sheriff’s Station’s Crime Impact Team, Special Assignment Team and detectives, they were able to locate the suspect, Miller said.
She said that the woman was suspected in incidents at four different gyms in the area and has done it in other areas, too.
Detectives began working and noticing the locker thefts dating back from July 2025 to last month, Miller said.
The suspect had at least 11 warrants from three separate counties, Miller said.
She remained in custody with no bail as of the publication of this story, Miller said.
