With sunny weather in the forecast, organizers are inviting Kern County residents to spend the weekend at the Sportsman Boat and RV Show at the Kern County Fairgrounds, where boats, RVs and a classic car show are among the attractions.

The event is billed as the biggest one at the Kern County Fairgrounds, with tickets available at the gate or online through the show’s website.

Steve Pinheiro, Sales Manager at Galeys Marine, shared the why purchasing a boat is more than just making a investment. “It’s about family” and “about friends and making memories”, says Pinheiro. Fishing boats start around $20,000, pontoon boats start around $30,000, and ski boats range from $100,000, with “big discounts this weekend,” Pinherio adds.

Among the higher-end boats on display is an “antique G 23 Paragon,” described as having “the biggest motor” and “the biggest area, with the coolest options.”

In addition to the boat and RV show, Bakersfield Car Club Council will be having their annual car show on Saturday March 14th starting at 10am, and is encouraging people to bring out classic cars or come by to look.

One of the vehicles highlighted ahead of the show is a Ford truck with a custom paint job. Jimmy Normandin, Spokesperson for the car club, described the council as a place where car clubs come together to discuss future events and car shows and share information so people know where to go.
