Two pedestrians suffered “significant injuries” after being struck by a car at the intersection of Prince Street and Shattuck Avenue Thursday night, according to the Berkeley Police Department.
Authorities responded to a 911 call around 10:05 p.m. last night after a 21-year-old Orinda woman and a 22-year-old Berkeley man were hit by a northbound vehicle. According to BPD, the Berkeley Fire Department transported the pedestrians to a trauma center. No updates are available on their condition as of press time.
BPD said the driver, a 42-year-old Berkeley man who was uninsured, remained at the scene and was not arrested after officers found no immediate signs of impairment. The investigation is still ongoing, according to authorities.
