A San Diego State win at Fresno State on Saturday would keep The Old Oil Can trophy on The Mesa and make the Aztecs bowl eligible for the first time since 2022. Here’s a look at five potential NFL prospects to watch in Saturday’s 12:30 p.m. game at Valley Children’s Stadium:
Jordan Napier, WR, San Diego State, So.
The 6-foot-2, 205-pound Napier was recently added to the 2025 Biletnikoff Award Watch List, an honor that goes to the most outstanding FBS receiver regardless of position. He has 37 receptions for 553 yards and two touchdowns through six games. Napier is ranked ninth in the nation in receiving yards per game (92.2) and tied for 17th in receptions per game (6.17). He’s also seventh in the nation in all-purpose yards per game (130), and is one of only 32 players with a punt return TD this year. Pro Football Focus currently grades him as the fourth-best wide receiver in the nation (87.2). When you narrow the focus solely to his performance on pass routes, only USC’s Makai Lemon grades higher (91.2) than Napier’s rating of 90.9.
Bayo Kannike, OL, San Diego State, Sr.
Kannike spent four years at Utah Tech, an FCS program, where he played every offensive line position except center. The 6-foot-4, 340-pound Los Angeles native has primarily played right guard for the Aztecs, where he’s proven to be one of the better pass blockers in the country. PFF currently has him tied for 63rd out of 623 guards in pass blocking with a grade of 82.2. Kannike’s size and fluid movement make him a finisher in the run game as well.
Al’zillion Hamilton, CB, Fresno State, Sr.
The Bulldogs haven’t had a player selected in the NFL draft since quarterback Jake Haener was taken in 2023, but they have plenty of prospects popping up now. Hamilton earned honorable mention All-MW honors last season after ranking seventh nationally in pass breakups (13). What the 5-11, 185-pound Hamilton lacks in size, he makes up for with premium ball skills and physicality. Hamilton was one of three players from the Mountain West named to the preseason watch list for the Jim Thorpe Award (best defensive back in the nation), and one of five players from the conference added to the preseason watch list for the Chuck Bednarik Award (top defender).
Rayshon “Speedy” Luke, RB, Fresno State, Jr.
The Arizona transfer committed to the Bulldogs over offers from UCLA, USC, Sacramento State and Miami (Ohio). The former four-star recruit was one of the top 20 running backs in the 2022 recruiting class. Luke is an explosive playmaker who can score from anywhere on the field, and he has very good hands out of the backfield. “Speedy” posted a personal record of 10.32 in the 100-meter dash as a senior at Bellflower St. John Bosco High School. He has 59 carries for 384 yards and 19 receptions for 128 yards and seven total TDs this season. PFF grades him as the 17th-best running back in the nation (85.5), and he’s tied for eighth (87.6) based solely on his performance on rushing plays.
Korey Foreman, Edge, Fresno State, Sr.
Foreman was the No. 3 overall recruit on 247Sports.com’s composite list for the class of 2021 and ranked the No. 1 edge rusher in the nation. The former five-star pass-rusher didn’t live up to expectations during his three years at USC, finishing with 25 tackles, 4½ tackles-for-loss, 2½ sacks and an interception in 26 games, although the interception did seal the Trojans’ 48-45 victory over crosstown rival UCLA in 2022 at the Rose Bowl. Foreman finished with three sacks and three forced fumbles in his first season with the Bulldogs, and has 1½ sacks so far this year. He’s flashed some of the juice that got people excited in the first place, and has been surprisingly good against the run during his two years in Fresno.
