Join us for a faculty workshop titled “Teaching about Genocide: The Armenian Case and Contemporary Applications” on Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM in OAB-139. The workshop will be facilitated by Dr. Matthew Ari Jendian, Professor of Sociology and Director of Humanics at Fresno State. Participants will examine the historical case of the Armenian Genocide, explore the stages and preconditions of genocide, and discuss contemporary applications in regions including Palestine and Artsakh. SCCCD faculty are welcome to attend and lunch will be provided. Please register by Friday, April 3 using the QR code on the flyer.
The event is hosted by the Fresno City College Social Justice Center in partnership with the Armenian Genocide Commemorative Committee of Fresno.
