The Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will recognize Maria Olmedo, owner of Casa Del Pan Bakery & Café, as the 2026 Small Business of the Year at the 54th Annual SALUD! Business Awards on Thursday, April 9.
According to a press release, the Salud! Business Awards is one of the region’s longest-running business celebrations, honoring entrepreneurs, organizations, and civic leaders who strengthen the economic vitality of the Greater Sacramento Region.
It will take place on Thursday, April 9, at the Mack Powell Event Center, 2003 Howe Ave. in Sacramento. The reception will begin at 6 p.m. and the awards ceremony at 7 p.m.
“This recognition honors a small business that exemplifies resilience, leadership, and meaningful economic impact in the Greater Sacramento Region,” said Cathy Rodriguez-Aguirre, president & CEO of the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. “Casa Del Pan represents the very spirit of entrepreneurship, rooted in culture, driven by community, and sustained through hard work and vision.”
As a woman- and Latina-owned business in Woodland, Olmedo has built more than a successful enterprise. Casa Del Pan has become a community gathering place that reflects cultural pride, heritage, and opportunity. This year’s Small Business of the Year award recognizes Olmedo for her leadership and the community impact of Casa Del Pan.
The event brings together elected officials, business leaders, and community advocates to celebrate leadership and strengthen connections that advance economic mobility and inclusive growth across the region.
Beyond her business leadership, Olmedo also serves as a Trustee for the Yolo County Board of Education.
“Her work to elevate Latino-owned businesses through collaboration and regional partnerships continues to strengthen economic opportunity across Yolo County and the Greater Sacramento region,” the release stated.
“When one business grows, the entire community benefits,” Rodriguez-Aguirre added. “Maria’s leadership reflects the power of entrepreneurship to bring people together and build a stronger regional economy.”
