The San Jose native who helped build ships as a Rosie the Riveter during World War II celebrated her 102nd birthday Sunday.

Vita Fota was surrounded by her family as she celebrated her birthday at the South Bay Yacht Club in San Jose.

Fota received a medal of honor from President Joe Biden for her works as a Rosie the Riveter. She told NBC Bay Area that the secret to a long life is to keep moving and working hard.

Fota worked until she was 95 years old at the last full-service gas station in San Jose.

Fota lives on her own and shows no sign of slowing down at the age of 102.
