An Oakland woman was found dead in her cell at Santa Rita Jail in Dublin on Friday, according to an Alameda County Sheriff’s Office press release.

Kenyonna Farr, 37, was found unresponsive in her assigned holding cell around 3:42 a.m. during a general observation check. Despite administering life-saving measures and requesting emergency medical services, Falck ambulance responders pronounced her deceased at 4:18 p.m.

Farr was arrested by Oakland police on suspicion of a court order violation and booked into Santa Rita Jail around 4:45 p.m. on March 10.

On March 12, Farr was taken to the Intake Transfer and Release area of Santa Rita Jail awaiting transportation to court. Around 7:20 a.m., Farr was seen unresponsive in her cell. Deputies began life-saving measures and she was taken to a nearby hospital in an ambulance. Farr was cleared by medical personnel to be taken back to the jail around 12:30 p.m.

Farr’s next of kin was notified, and the cause and manner of her death will be determined by a forensic pathologist following an autopsy and toxicology testing.
