Cesar Mendoza and Sydney Yee have been announced as the Associate Student president and vice president for the 2026-27 term, respectively, by Cal State Fullerton ASI Friday.Â
Mendoza and Yee stated before the ASI election that their campaign focuses on transparency and working for the student body.
“Leadership should be transparent. Student fees should be accountable. Campus life should feel active and connected. And wellness should never be an afterthought,” wrote the pair in an Instagram post.
Outcomes of the election include two representatives each from the eight colleges on campus, who will serve on ASI’s Board of Directors.
Joshua Lopez and Emma Rodriguez will represent the College of the Arts.
Directors for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences are Mia Phao and Amy Westen.Â
The College of Business and Economics will be represented by Mason Box and Manaswini Surusomayajula.
Keoni Guerrero and Anirudh Mukherjee will represent the College of Engineering and Computer Science. Guerrero was also appointed as a director for the remainder of the spring 2026 semester.
Yahir Flores and Jennifer Tran are directors for the College of Education.
The College of Health and Human Development will be represented by Savannah Miller and Denise Suzer.
Shine Aung and Eugenie Bassilly will represent the College of Natural Science and Mathematics.
Luca Romero and Jessica Collins will represent the College of Communications.
On Wednesday, ASI held their “Cars Under the Stars” election event, where students were encouraged to come out, bring a blanket and grab some popcorn. Students were able to check in and cast their vote for their favored candidate.
Students at the event shared different motivations for voting, with a focus on transparency and mental health being among the key concerns.Â
“I feel like mental health should be the greatest priority on campus right now,” Gianna Guerrero, a second-year psychology major, said.Â
The newly elected officials begin their term on June 1, 2026 and conclude May 31, 2027.
