Olympic medal matches are coming to San Diego.
The Los Angeles 2028 Olympics will host bronze medal matches for both men’s and women’s soccer at San Diego’s Snapdragon Stadium.
The announcement came Monday as the LA28 Organizing Committee released its Olympic Soccer schedule. Nearly a dozen matches will be played at the Mission Valley stadium, giving San Diegans their best chance to soak in the summer Olympics.

The majority of games will feature women’s soccer. Group stage matches will be held from July 11-17. The quarterfinals will be held on July 21 and the semi-final on July 25, ahead of the bronze medal match on July 28. Men’s soccer teams will compete at Snapdragon for the semi-final match on July 24 and the bronze medal match on July 27.
Preliminary and knockout stages will take place at stadiums in six cities across the U-S, including San Diego and San Jose, with the final matches planned for the Rose Bowl Stadium.
Snapdragon Stadium is San Diego County’s only Olympic venue for LA28, but surfing will be held nearby at Lower Trestles Beach, near Camp Pendleton.
