The Seattle Sounders traveled to San Jose on their continued road trip, and once again found a way to win, this time against the Earthquakes. While only one goal was scored in the end (by Paul Rothrock, of course), this match featured a lot of back-and-forth play, with a plethora of chances at each end. Andrew Thomas had six (!) huge saves, and new guy Antino Lopez made a heroic clearance off the line to maintain the clean sheet and the three points. Cody Baker would have added some cushion had Rothrock not been a touch offside in the approach.
