A Huron woman was killed in a solo-vehicle crash Saturday morning near Lemoore Naval Air Station, California Highway Patrol said.

The crash was reported at 6:52 a.m. Saturday, March 14, in the area of State Route 198 east of Jameson Avenue in Fresno County. Emergency medical service and CHP officers responded to the scene.

CHP said the driver of a blue Nissan Rogue was traveling west on State Route 198, east of Jameson Avenue, at an undetermined speed and for unknown reason the Nissan Rogue drifted to the right shoulder before the driver lost control. The vehicle spun to the left across both lanes of traffic down a small embankment where it rolled over, resting on its wheels on the southern dirt shoulder of State Route 198.

The driver was ejected from the Nissan Rogue and struck her head, resulting in fatal injuries. The driver was found on the ground next to the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

She was identified by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office as Cynthia Salinas, 27, of Huron.

The CHP said the driver was not wearing a seat belt.

The crash remains under investigation.
