FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — The 11th Annual Blue Mass was held at St. John’s Cathedral to honor first responders on Friday.

The Blue Mass is a cherished Catholic tradition that gathers the faithful to pray for active, retired, and fallen first responders.

Bishop Joseph Brennan blessed badges and emergency vehicles that attended the event.

He said, “The Blue Mass reminds us that faith and service go hand in hand. It is a moment of gratitude and a chance to show support for those who support and protect our communities.”
