SANTA CLARA, Calif.- Bucknell (8-11) rolled past Fresno Pacific (3-13) 21-12 in non-conference action on Friday night. The Bison galloped to a 12-7 halftime lead and coasted in the second half to the large victory. Aleksa Stefanovic led the Orange & Blue with seven goals.Â
The Bison scored six goals in the first and second periods to quickly push past the Sunbirds. Fresno Pacific briefly led 3-0 before the Bison, trying to acclimate to the time difference, ended the period on a 6-1 run.Â
Bucknell continued its groove with another six goals in the next period with Stefanovic contributing half of the Orange & Blue’s tallies. FPU scored three times in a vain attempt to keep pace.
The Bison machine rolled on in the third period with another four goals. Fresno Pacific again tallied three times but the deficit continued to eclipse the Sunbirds.
Bucknell prevented any final quarter comeback by Fresno Pacific by scoring five goals to FPU’s two for the 21-12 victory.
The California trip continues tomorrow as the Bison battle No. 7 Pacific and No. 12 California Baptist.Â
