BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A shelter-in-place order is currently in effect due to a gas leak on Garces Highway, near Adventist Health – Delano Tuesday morning.

The Delano Police Department is helping the Kern County Fire Department in response to a gas leak in the 1600 block of Garces Highway.

Police said a shelter-in-place order is currently in effect for nearby residents.

Adventist Health – Delano and the adjacent skilled nursing facility have also been placed under a shelter-in-place order as a precaution.

Residents in the affected area should remain indoors, close all windows and doors, and avoid the area until further notice.
