REDDING, Calif. — A motorcyclist died after an early-morning crash on Airport Road in Redding, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The crash happened on March 16, at about 1:50 a.m. CHP said the driver of a 2020 Harley-Davidson was traveling northbound on Airport Road south of River Valley Drive in the 2nd lane at an unknown speed.

For unknown reasons, the driver was unable to properly handle a curve on the left side of the roadway and crashed into the concrete bridge railing on the east side of the roadway, according to CHP.

The driver was taken to a local hospital and later died from their injuries. The driver’s identity was being withheld pending notification of their family.

The crash investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information was asked to contact the Redding CHP office at 530-225-0500.
