LONG BEACH, CA — Multiple Grammy-award-winning hip-hop artist Lil Wayne will perform at the Long Beach Amphitheater on Saturday, Aug. 1 , the venue announced March 17.

The concert is billed as “20 Years of Carter Classics,” which is a nod to the artist’s full name, Dewayne Carter, as well as his series of “The Carter” albums, which began in 2004.

The show’s two opening acts are rappers The Game and 2 Chainz, both of whom are also Grammy winners.

Tickets go on sale March 20 through Ticketmaster.

The city-owned amphitheater, which is currently still under construction, is expected to be an 11,000-seat outdoor venue. It’s slated to open to the public with a July 11 concert featuring rocker Les Claypool and his band, Primus.

Other acts also scheduled for shows later this year include “yacht rock” acts Toto and Christopher Cross on Aug. 14, country star Luke Bryan on Aug. 15, and cumbia band Los Angeles Azules on Sept. 5.
