On ATL Livec, viewers will get a closer look at the elements of a traditional ofrenda, or altar, which honors loved ones who have passed. Guests explained the symbolism behind the four core elements—earth, wind, fire, and water—and how personal touches like photographs, candles, marigolds, and favorite foods help bring memories to life.
Now in its third year at Oakland Cemetery (and 23rd year overall), the festival is a joint effort between the Consulate General of Mexico in Atlanta, the Institute of Mexican Culture, and the Historic Oakland Foundation. It’s a joyful, immersive experience that invites everyone to celebrate life and legacy through:
🎶 Live music and traditional dancing🌮 Authentic Mexican food vendors🎨 Family-friendly crafts and entertainment👗 Catrín & Catrina costume contest🕯️ Mausoleums transformed into ofrendas (altars)
