Police officers responded to the park at about 11:33 p.m. Friday for a ShotSpotter activation, officials said. A man, later identified as Flores, was found at the park with an apparent gunshot wound.

In a statement on Monday, officials said officers saw a “blacked-out vehicle” fleeing the area minutes after the ShotSpotter activation. Officers stopped the vehicle with three people inside and recovered a weapon.

The suspects were identified as Brayden Mendez, Alexa Marmolejo and Joshua Holguin — all 18 years old — according to BPD.

The investigation is ongoing.
