According to officials, the fire broke out on the second floor of the building, and the crews were able to knock the flames down in 16 minutes.
SAN DIEGO — A second-alarm fire that broke out at an apartment building in the neighborhood of City Heights left close to a dozen residents displaced on Tuesday afternoon.
Firefighters with the San Diego Fire Department were dispatched at 3:31 p.m. to a three-story apartment building in the intersection of Euclid Avenue & Home Avenue. As officials arrived, residents evacuated from the building, and crews knocked down the flames in 16 minutes.Â
According to the San Diego Fire Department, the fire broke out on the second floor of the building, and it had spread to two adjoining units, as well as an upstairs unit, leaving 13 people displaced, unable to return to their units. The Red Cross was called to help arrange a place for them to stay for the time being.
No one was injured, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
