One person was hospitalized Tuesday after a truck and a car crashed in Encino, shearing a hydrant and causing water to erupt at the scene.

The crash was reported at 3:47 p.m. near the intersection of Hayvenhurst Avenue and Calneva Drive, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The crash caused one of the vehicles to shear a hydrant in the area, flooding the street and sending water bursting overhead.

It’s unclear what caused the crash, but the impact caused the truck to overturn.

The severity of the injuries for the person who was hospitalized is not clear. The investigation is ongoing.
