The South Pasadena Arts Council (SPARC) is hosting “Artistry Unveiled: A Celebration of Women Artists” throughout March 2026, featuring a series of exhibitions and workshops at the SPARC Gallery.
This month-long celebration highlights the creative contributions of local women, offering residents an intimate look at contemporary art, literature, and wellness-focused creative practices.
Unleashed by Anna Berlly
The centerpiece of the month is the exhibition “Unleashed” by artist Anna Berlly. Her vibrant, expressive works remain on view through March 31, providing a colorful backdrop for the month’s festivities.
While the opening reception was held earlier this month, the community is invited to visit during special gallery hours on Wednesday, March 18, and Wednesday, March 25, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
The exhibition will conclude with a Closing Celebration on Saturday, March 28, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This finale features a live performance by South Pasadena singer-songwriter Sophie Reynolds, blending visual art with local musical talent.
Interactive Workshops and Poetry
On Thursday, March 19, the gallery transitions into a literary space for “Poetry in the Afternoon.” From 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, attendees can enjoy readings from featured poets Hanna Pachman and Christine Jordan.
The following Saturday, March 21, SPARC presents “The Art of Calm” from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Coinciding with the first day of spring, this restorative session blends conversation with author Chantal Donnelly and a hands-on floral design workshop.
“Our goal is to create a space where the community can connect deeply with the artists’ processes,” a SPARC representative noted. “Whether through poetry or floral design, these events celebrate the diverse ways women shape our culture.”
How to Participate: Most workshops, including “The Art of Calm,” require a $65 registration fee which covers all materials and light refreshments. For more information on event registration or gallery locations, visit the official SPARC website or stop by the gallery during scheduled hours.
