Sacramento police detained a suspect linked to a shooting near Oak Park.
Police said officers and crisis negotiators were on the scene with the suspect on the 3300 block of 12th Avenue. Officials were working to get the suspect to exit a vehicle.
Officials said the suspect is connected to a shooting that happened around 1:15 p.m. on March 12 on the 4000 block of Washington Avenue.
Police say the victim in this shooting, a man, was pronounced dead on the scene.

After the shooting, officers received a weapons call on Jeffrey Way and found a suspect vehicle. They attempted to pull it over, but did not stop and a chase happened until reaching the 3300 block of 12th Avenue. Police said evacuations occurred in the area.
The suspect, identified as Willie King, 47, was detained peacefully, police said. He was taken to the hospital where he remained until Tuesday.
Law enforcement add the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the man who died after next of kin have been notified.
