FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — The Trump Administration announced it will provide $540 million in federal funds to benefit the state’s water infrastructure.
Congressmen Vince Fong, David Valadao and other state lawmakers worked to secure funding for state water projects, including the Friant-Kern canal and Delta-Mendota canal correction projects.
The funding will be used to fix aging systems while helping to bolster water supply, delivery, and conservation to aid the Central Valley’s vast farmland.
Congressman Fong released a statement as part of Tuesday’s announcement, reading in part, “These are not just upgrades – they are transformative investments that will modernize how water moves across our state and ensure reliable delivery to communities, businesses and farms.”
