Two fires hit a Sacramento home on Twin Oaks Avenue within 10 hours. No injuries reported.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A Sacramento home on Twin Oaks Avenue experienced two separate fires in less than 10 hours, authorities reported.
The first fire was reported around 9:50 p.m. Tuesday night at 7876 Twin Oaks Avenue. Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District (Metro Fire) crews arrived to find flames in the attic.Â
Firefighters contained the fire to the attic, preventing damage from spreading to the living areas, and conducted extensive overhaul operations to extinguish hidden fires.
The homeowner, who was inside the residence during the first fire, noticed smoke coming from the eaves and exited the home safely before calling 911. At the time, the home was undergoing a remodel. No injuries were reported.
Early Wednesday morning, around 5:20 a.m., Metro Fire responded to a second fire at the same residence.Â
This time, the fire involved the main floor. Firefighters confirmed the home was unoccupied and quickly contained the flames. Metro Fire’s Investigation Team is on scene investigating both incidents to determine the cause.
Officials reminded the public that working smoke alarms save lives and advised testing alarms monthly and replacing batteries at least once a year.
