OAKLAND — A 15-year-old boy was shot multiple times Wednesday morning at an Allendale district gas station, authorities said.
The boy, who lives in another part of Oakland, was wounded at least twice in the lower extremities, authorities said. His condition was not immediately available.
The shooting happened about 2:34 a.m. Wednesday at a gas station in the 3100 block of 35th Avenue near Interstate 580.
According to initial police reports, the boy was with some other people in a vehicle that had just pulled into the station.
According to the initial reports, another vehicle was already at the station and two men got out and began shooting at the vehicle occupied by the 15-year-old and the others.
Both vehicles then drove off, according to the reports.
The wounded boy was found in the vehicle, which was stopped a short distance from Highland Hospital. He was then taken to the hospital by medical personnel.
No one else was with the boy, and no other wounded people have been found, authorities said.
A motive for the shooting is under investigation. Detailed descriptions of the shooters have not been released.
