A person was killed in an overnight shooting in Jamul, and a person was detained for questioning, authorities said Wednesday.
The fatal shooting occurred around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 16000 block of Loose Creek Road, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.
Once deputies arrived at the scene, they did not locate any victims at the residence. Afterwards, the Alpine Fire Protection District notified the sheriff’s office that a shooting victim had arrived at their station. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man was detained for questioning, SDSO said. The identity of the victim is not being released pending notification to the family.
The Sheriff’s Homicide Unit is investigating the incident.
No other injuries were immediately reported.
