FRESNO – Selma resident Nick Sahota has officially started his campaign for a seat on the Fresno County Board of Supervisors.
Narinder “Nick” Sahota has officially launched his campaign for the Fresno County Board of Supervisors District 4 seat. District 4 includes many Central Valley communities such as Selma, Malaga, Fowler, Parlier, Sanger, Reedley, Orange Cove, Kingsburg, Caruthers, Riverdale, Laton, Coalinga and Huron.
According to a press release, his campaign started with a well-attended kick off on March 13 at the Golden Palace Event Center in Fresno. The event brought together farmers, business owners, community leaders, elected officials and supporters from across the Central Valley.
“I am deeply grateful and truly humbled by the overwhelming support,” said Sahota in the release. “From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who took time out of their busy lives to attend this event, support the campaign, and believe in our shared vision for the future of the Central Valley.”
During the event, Sahota spoke about why he is running and the urgent issues facing the Valley including protecting agriculture, securing reliable water, improving roads and infrastructure, supporting economic growth and creating good-paying jobs for future generations.
“As a farmer for more than 35 years, a small business owner for over 25 years and a school board trustee, I understand the struggles our families face,” Sahota said. “Our farmers are under pressure, our rural communities need investment and our young people deserve opportunities to build their future right here in the Central Valley.”
Sahota also emphasized that his campaign is about protecting the Valley’s way of life.
“This campaign is not about me,” he said. “It’s about protecting our farmland, water, jobs and communities. It’s about making sure the voices of our rural towns and hardworking families are heard.”
Sahota pledged to work tirelessly to improve county services, streamline development processes, support agriculture and strengthen the local economy so that the next generation can continue to live and work in the Central Valley.
The primary election will take place on June 2, and as per the press release, Sahota is respectfully asking for the community’s support.
“Our Valley built the American Dream for many families, including mine,” Sahota said. “Now it’s time to protect that dream for our children and future generations.
