Trevor Zegras, now with the Flyers after being traded from the Anaheim Ducks in June 2025, expressed positive feelings about returning to Anaheim for a game against his former team.

In recent comments ahead of the matchup at Honda Center, Zegras said it’s “definitely good to be back,” noting he has “a lot of love for this area” and the people there. He highlighted how the fans and community “were always so good to me” and “made it a lot of fun to come to work and play for the Ducks.”

Zegras also described the return as feeling good, especially seeing the fans “loud and proud,” and anticipated it being a motivating yet cool experience overall—more emotional than his prior game against Anaheim (an earlier Flyers-Ducks matchup where he had a strong performance and called it “f***ing amazing”).Zegras has been thriving in Philadelphia this season, reaching 50+ points (with 21 goals and 29 assists through recent games), showing renewed confidence and production after injury-plagued and challenging final years in Anaheim.

The trade appears to have been a fresh start for him, and he’s embracing the nostalgia of his time with the Ducks while moving forward. This sentiment contrasts with some earlier moments, like his celebratory reaction in his first game against Anaheim post-trade, but his latest remarks reflect appreciation for the city and fans rather than any lingering negativity.
