FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — Looking and feeling your best doesn’t always require a major investment. Sometimes it starts with understanding which colors suit you.

That’s the principle behind House of Colour stylist and franchise owner Trina Reilly’s approach to helping clients elevate their wardrobes.

“I’m here to help women discover their natural beauty, highlight that in a way that makes them feel authentic, dress in a way that brings out their natural confidence and radiance,” Reilly said.

Reilly focuses on building wardrobes that work for each client’s coloring and style.

She says that once someone learns their ideal palette, shopping becomes less overwhelming.

“You’re going to know exactly the colors to choose,” she said. “You’re not going to feel like you’re walking into the stores and having to always buy things that are on trend or ending up with a full closet feeling like you have nothing to wear.”

Each appointment begins with an inperson color analysis, which Reilly describes as a handson process that depends on natural light and sidebyside comparisons.

“It’s an active process. It’s in person, in natural light. Seeing is believing. We’re looking at the same thing with our own eyes in real time, seeing the big difference that the colors make,” she said.

During sessions, clients learn whether they have warm or cool undertones and which colors naturally complement their features.

“We help them discover the colors that are going to naturally harmonize with their DNA with their undertone,” Reilly said.

The service aims to provide longlasting tools rather than temporary trends.

“We’re talking about everything from the hair color that works for you, because that frames your face. The cosmetics that work. How to be able to have a wardrobe that in essence really does put you at the center,” she said.

Clients leave their appointments with resources to assist them beyond the studio, including a portable color swatch fan for use while shopping.

“What you’re really looking for is color harmony,” Reilly said. “When you wave the fan against the color or the garment, does it harmonize with all the colors in the palette?”

Through personalized guidance, Reilly says her goal is to help clients build confidence and simplify their everyday style decisions by understanding which colors work best for them.
