Three suspects in an unprovoked beatdown hurled antisemitic slurs before brutally assaulting two elderly Jews outside a San Jose restaurant, according to an internal police report that calls the attack a “hate crime.”

Ramon Akoyans, 18, Roma Akoyans, 20, and Bruneil Chamaki, 32 turned themselves in to the San Jose Police Department on Monday, where they were slapped with felony assault charges for the beating, with Chamaki facing an additional misdemeanor battery charge.

Santa Clara DA Jeff Rosen has declined to bring hate crime charges against the trio even though the two victims told police the assailants said “F— Jews” and “F—ing Jews” before the broad-daylight attack, according to a police report created with officers who responded to the scene.

A witness said the attackers could be saying “Don’t f— with Iran,” as they ran off following the attack, according to the shocking internal document authored by SJPD officers that was obtained by The Post.

To the SJPD officers it was clear that a hate crime had occurred in the shocking assault on two older Hebrew speakers that was captured on video outside the posh eatery Augustine.

“On 3/8/2026 at approximately 1538 hours, a hate crime occurred at 377 Santana Row in San Jose, Ca.,” the SJPD police report states.

“The victims were Jewish and were speaking to each other in Hebrew. Three suspects walked past them and heard the victims speaking Hebrew. One suspect said, “F— jews” and all three suspects began physically assaulting the two victims at the same time.”

In another section of the report, SJPD officers complete a dedicated form for identifying the incident as a “hate crime.”

Police often recommend charges and characterize crimes but in Santa Clara County, where the crime occurred, and elsewhere, it is up to the District Attorney to decide what charges to bring to court.

It’s not clear why Rosen, who is an observant Jew, has so far declined to being hate crime charges in this instance.

Such charges in California require proving that the suspect was motivated by hate. If proven, a hate crime charge carries up to an extra year in jail.

Rosen spokesman Sean Webby said that the DA’s office is still reviewing all the available evidence in the case.

“The investigation is ongoing,” Webby said. “Law enforcement is still trying to figure out exactly what happened.”

Onlookers told police the victims were speaking Hebrew and described when the trio of young men stopped to attack them as they passed by.

Chilling video of the horrifying assault taken by a bystander shows the three suspects attacking the older men with their fists and elbows. The attackers pummeled the older men even after they are knocked to the ground.

The trio turned themselves in to the San Jose Police Department on March 16.

Chamaki, the oldest of the three accused assailants, was admitted to the California State Bar in 2023 and was listed as a corporate attorney, according to reports. The law firm he worked for appeared to take down any postings about him online.

The three suspects had a reputation for antisemitism, according to a transcript of an anonymous tip to police that was described in the SJPD report.

An anonymous caller told SJPD that that he grew up with two of the suspects and that the assault “was not random.”

The caller said he had recently heard the attackers say “lots” of antisemitic things “suspects were praising the Iranian Ayatollah,” according to the report.

“The suspects are very antisemitic and they post on Instagram,” the tipster told police

The three suspects had previously posed with high-powered guns in chilling photos and videos posted online. Images and clips showed them holding handguns and semi-automatic AR-15-style rifles.

The three suspects appear to have known each other through the Bay Area’s Assyrian community.

Several other posts show Chamaki and the two Akoyans together at gun ranges, MMA fights and other social activities.

The three suspects couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
