Purdue defeated Oakland City on Wednesday afternoon with an 11-3 win at home. The Boilers were originally scheduled to face Butler on Tuesday, but the game was canceled due to weather, resulting in a midweek game against Oakland City.
The Boilermakers leaned heavily on their bullpen, using ten pitchers across nine innings.

Senior right-handed pitcher Austin Klug started and earned the win, pitching only two innings despite his productive outing. Klug started the game off right with four strikeouts, no runs, and only one hit. Although allowing a home run, freshman right-handed pitcher Noah Filer had a similarly successful performance, with only two hits and one run in three innings. Senior right-handed pitcher Nick Kolze allowed the other two runs despite facing only two batters, both scoring on RBI singles.
Among the dominant offensive players were junior infielder Dylan Drake (2-for-4), senior outfielder Eli Anderson (4-for-5), senior infielder Sam Flores (2-for-3), senior infielder/outfielder Aaron Manias (2-for-3), junior infielder/outfielder Jimmy Dionne (2-for-2), and senior outfielder Brandon Rogers (2-for-2).
Manias started the game off with an RBI double in the first inning, putting the Boilers ahead early. Drake later had a two run home run in the fourth inning.
Purdue is set to dive into Big Ten play once again, opening its third conference series against Penn State at 4 p.m. on Friday at Alexander Field.
