SAN DIEGO – San Diego State lacrosse’s Keira Doyle-Odenbach has received her third career Big 12 weekly accolade, and her second of the season, after being named Midfielder of the Week on Wednesday.
The sophomore out of Orland Park, Ill. put her name in the record books, setting a new program record for draw controls in a single game after grabbing 13 against Columbia on Sunday. She also scored a career high four goals while adding two caused turnovers, one assist and one ground ball.
Doyle-Odenbach is the team’s second leading scorer with 19 points on the season off 15 goals and four assists. She also has 30 draw controls to lead the Aztecs in the circle. She ranks fourth in the league in draw controls per game, averaging four per outing.
This is the second Midfielder of the Week award for the Aztec, who garnered the accolade on Feb. 18. In her freshman campaign, she earned Freshman of the Week honors as well as All-Newcomer Team distinction.
Next up, San Diego State heads to Kent State to take on the Golden Flashes on Friday at 3 p.m. PT
