On Wednesday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers played the Rockets in Houston.

The Lakers won by a score of 124-116.

Luka Doncic finished with 40 points, nine rebounds, ten assists and one steal while shooting 12/25 from the field and 7/17 from three-point range in 38 minutes of playing time.

Doncic also made NBA history with his performance.

Real App wrote: “Luka Doncic is the youngest player in NBA history to reach 1,600 career threes made.”

Doncic came into the night with incredible averages of 32.9 points, 7.9 rebounds, 8.5 assists and 1.5 steals per contest while shooting 47.4% from the field and 36.4% from three-point range in 56 games.

He is in his first full season with the Lakers (and will have a chance to win the 2026 MVP Award).

Underdog NBA wrote: “Luka Doncic in win over Rockets: 40 PTS 9 REB 10 AST LeBron James: 30 PTS 13-14 FG Lakers sweep 2-game set at Houston and have now won 10 of 11 overall.”

Doncic And Lakers On Fire

The Lakers are the third seed in the Western Conference with a 43-25 record in 68 games.

They are in the middle of a six-game winning streak (and have won nine out of their last ten).

Following their win over the Rockets, the Lakers will visit the Miami Heat on Thursday night in Florida.

Lakers reporter Jovan Buha wrote: “A masterclass in closing a game from Luka. 40-9-10. LA wins its 7th straight, improving to 44-25. They win the season series w/ HOU and have a 3-game lead in the battle for No. 3, given they now own all the tiebreakers.”

As for the Rockets, they are the fifth seed in the Western Conference with a 41-26 record in 67 games.

They have won just five out of their last ten games (and are 23-9 on the road).

On Friday, the Rockets will host the Atlanta Hawks in Houston.
