WESTMINSTER, Calif. (KABC) — One person is dead and another is in the hospital after a fire ripped through a home in Westminster.
Firefighters responded to the home on Apache Road near Garden Grove Boulevard just after 7 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Orange County Fire Authority. They arrived to find raging flames shooting from the structure’s windows and thick smoke billowing into the sky.
An elderly woman managed to make it out of the home, fire officials said. She was rushed to the hospital with smoke inhalation and burns.
Firefighters later found the body of a second person inside the home. That victim has not been identified.
The cause of the deadly fire is not yet known.
