The California Academy of Sciences will mark its 173rd anniversary with its annual Academy Day, offering pay-what-you-can admission starting at $5.
Highlights include a morning performance by the Alan Jones Jazz Trio, a meet-and-greet with Golden State Valkyries mascot Violet and an appearance by “Dinosaur Train” host Scott Sampson and Buddy the Dinosaur.
Guests can also explore a popup science fair featuring Academy scientists and eco-friendly vendors, plus live animal presentations by Lindsay Wildlife Experience.
Proceeds from a silent auction featuring Golden State Warriors, Valkyries and Cal Academy items will benefit the museum’s research and education programs.
Academy Day includes full access to the aquarium, rainforest dome, planetarium shows and Cal Academy’s latest exhibition, “Tiny Chef, Big Impact.”
Pay-what-you-can tickets for Thursday, March 26, is limited to six per order.
Standard admission is $49-$55 for adults; $45-$49 for children age 13-18; and $39-$45 for children age 3-12. Kids 2 and younger are free.
