CINCINNATI (WKRC) – The Reds dropped both of their split-squad Cactus League games Wednesday, despite a strong performance from second baseman Matt McLain.
McLain went 3-for-3 in an 8-6 loss to the Colorado Rockies in Goodyear, Arizona, raising his spring batting line to .545/.592/1.045.
Brady Singer started that game and pitched 3 2/3 scoreless innings before exiting with a blister. Cincinnati led 6-1 entering the eighth inning, but Colorado scored six runs, including four unearned, to rally for the win.
In Tempe, Arizona, the Reds fell 7-4 to the Los Angeles Angels.
