Rolling Hills Elementary School received a $13,000 community fire-safety grant from the PQ-NE Action Group, a nonprofit community group focused on wildfire preparedness and community safety in northeast Rancho Peñasquitos. The school’s students and teachers had to be evacuated out of northeast Rancho Peñasquitos during the Center Fire in January last year, which highlighted the importance of having more radios and emergency-readiness equipment to get everyone to safety. The event also re-enforced the importance of preparedness and coordination among schools, families, first responders and community partners in the fire prone area. Choir gives spring concert
