SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. — A 29-year-old man is in custody following a fatal shooting at an apartment complex in Sacramento County.
The shooting was reported on the 4000 block of South Watt Avenue around 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.
When deputies arrived, they found a 28-year-old man who had been shot. He was provided medical aid and was taken to the hospital, where he died.
Homicide detectives took over the investigation and identified Ricardo Hernandez as the suspected shooter.Â
The sheriff’s office said Hernandez had an argument with the victim outside the apartment complex that escalated into a physical fight, leading Hernandez to allegedly shoot the victim.
Authorities located and arrested Hernandez on Wednesday. He was booked into the Sacramento Main Jail on murder and felon in possession of a firearm charges.
