SANTA CLARA, CALIF. – Brown men’s water polo fell just short to No. 12 California Baptist, 17-16, after a tough fight on day one of the Julian Fraser Memorial Tournament (Oct. 24).
Dominik Balla gave the Bears their first goal with an assist from Hugo Molnar two minutes and fifteen seconds into the game. The Bears were able to keep the first half of the game tied at 8-8 with goals from William Vranesh, Ramzi Megalli, and three from Ilias Stothart.
By the end of the third quarter, the men had moved up by one goal, with Mac Berry and Balla both contributing goals for the team. With a great deal of assistance from goalie Dimitrios Kratimenos, preventing eight goals from the Lancers.
Brown will close out play with a contest against Santa Clara on Saturday (Oct. 25).
