BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Kern County District Attorney’s Office is seeking an agreement with Bakersfield Recovery Services to provide services for the Family Justice Center.

That’s according to the Kern County Board of Supervisor’s March 24, 2026 agenda. It follows the fallout between the District Attorney’s Office and the Open Door Network.

In November, the DA’s office issued a non-renewal letter to the Open Door Network. The letter indicated an effective date of April 1, 2026.

The proposed agreement with Bakersfield Recovery Services would run from April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2028.

According to the Bakersfield Recovery Services website, the organization offers a “range of services, including Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), Men’s Recovery, Women’s Recovery, and Perinatal Services.”
