Every Saturday will be a “fiesta” this summer in San Francisco.

For the 2026 season, the National League’s Giants will wear special “Gigantes” jerseys during Saturday home games, part of the team’s “Fiesta Gigantes” promotion, during which the club will celebrate Latino culture. The uniform, the club says, “honours the Latino community that has shaped Giants baseball.”

It’s a black jersey with orange piping down the placket area of the jersey as well as around the collar. Arched across the chest is “GIGANTES” in black lettering trimmed in orange with a grey drop shadow. Below this lettering, also arched, is an orange step fret motif, “rooted in Latin American visual heritage.”

This “GIGANTES” wordmark across the front is presented in the same style of lettering that the team wore across their home jerseys from 1983 to 1993, which they’re called their “Humm Baby” era, a reference to a rallying cry that had been used by Giants’ manager Roger Craig during this period.

This step fret motif is carried onto the sleeve striping, embedded between two orange stripes at the cuff. It also appears within the player numbers on the back of the jersey, which are grey with orange trim. Player names are arched above in orange with black trim and a grey drop shadow. A new sleeve patch, aside from that Airwallex ad, is also present on this jersey; it features the same “GIGANTES” wordmark as we see across the jersey, but now placed upon an orange diamond with two crossed baseball bats and step frets galore.

A new ballcap was also introduced alongside this jersey, featuring a black crown with a grey front panel. On the front crown is a new twist on the Giants’ classic interlocking-SF logo, now presented in black with orange trim in a style similar to the 80’s jersey wordmark, with the bottom left serif of the “S” and the crossbar of the “F” manipulated to match the step fret theme throughout.

I have to imagine this is the first ballcap in MLB history to be black with a silver front panel.

The Giants have worn “Gigantes” uniforms many times in the past, typically just with a simple re-spelling of the team name across their usual home jerseys. The last time the Giants wore “Gigantes” on their jersey was during the 2023 season, when it was worn across a black jersey in the team’s standard orange lettering for a series of games, including during an MLB World Tour game in Mexico City.
