Last night at approximately 10:10 p.m., a traffic collision occurred on northbound Interstate 5 near Pocket Road in Sacramento.
The California Highway Patrol reported that a motorcyclist lost control, causing the motorcycle to overturn. The rider was struck by a passing vehicle.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene but the rider was pronounced deceased. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Alcohol is not suspected.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the rider’s identity after next-of-kin notification.
