Woman Wounded in South LA Shooting

A woman was hospitalized Saturday after she was shot while walking down a street in South Los Angeles.

The shooting occurred about 1 a.m. Saturday at Imperial Highway and Main Street, according to a Los Angeles Police Department spokeswoman.

The woman was walking in the area when she was struck by gunfire, the officer said. It was unclear if she was the intended target.

Paramedics took the victim to a hospital, where she had stable vital signs, the officer said. Her age was not provided.
