BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Seven people were arrested after authorities conducted a warrant sweep in the Taft and Maricopa areas.
The Kern County Sheriff’s Office said on March 18, 2026, deputies from the Taft Substation and detectives with the Rural Crimes Investigation Unit (RCIU), with help from the Probation Department, conducted a warrant sweep in the Taft and Maricopa areas targeting individuals with outstanding arrest warrants.
KCSO said during the operation, 37-year-old Joshua Green, 34-year-old Jaime Baxtor, and 37-year-old Branden Clark were arrested on outstanding felony warrants.
A search warrant was also executed in the 400 block of Monteview Avenue in Taft.
According to KCSO, 25-year-old Laurentino Garcia Hernandez, 25-year-old Isaias Torres-Torres, 27-year-old Miguel Angel Llamas, and 35-year-old Cirilo Sandoval Hernandez were arrested for receiving/possessing copper wire, receiving/possessing known stolen property, possession of burglary tools, and conspiracy to commit a crime, in addition to their outstanding warrants.
RCIU detectives seized about 100 pounds of industrial-grade copper wire and six ceramic industrial fuses belonging to PG&E.
All suspects were later booked into the Lerdo jail facility.
