Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 38-year-old man in southeast Fresno last month, police said.

Homicide detectives said Laura Castillo, 45, and Joey Fernandez, 43, along with another unidentified man, confronted Alejandro Garcia on Sept. 28 at his residence near Garrett and Barton avenues.

During the argument, Fernandez allegedly stabbed Garcia multiple times in the upper body, police said.

Garcia was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where he later died.

Castillo was arrested the next day during a residential search warrant.

Fernandez, who was already in custody on unrelated charges, was additionally charged with murder on Friday, Oct. 10, police said.
